Burlesque for the Boudoir
Learn the art of the striptease from the dames of Rogue Burlesque. We’ll show you to bump, grind, shimmy — and twirl tassels!

The Armory is a big, smooth, curvy, white building – hard to miss. Go in the front doors and downstairs for Shanti.
Some options to get there:
- Drive. There is a big parking lot behind the Armory and it’s free.
- Take the T to Davis. Either walk 15 minutes east on Highland, or take the 88 bus towards Lechemere. You’ll see Somerville Hospital on your right, and the Armory is not too far after that, on the left.
- Take the T to Porter, it’s less than a mile. Use Google Maps for this one but it’s pretty straightforward.
$30 includes 2-hour workshop, CD of sexy songs, and tasseled pasties!

Plan to bring an outfit that makes you feel sexy – something you could see yourself stripping out of. We’ll show you how to remove your outfit in a way that shows off your particular assets!
Good clothes for stripping out of:
- Dresses that can be removed over your hips (usually something with a zipper in the back)
- Button-down shirts
- Skirts with zippers, roomy elastic (that fits over your hips), or wrap skirts
- Thigh high stockings
Not so good for stripping out of:
- Dresses or tops that need to go over your head to come off
- Over-the head lingerie
- Pantyhose or full-leg tights
Our class will focus on:
- Setting the right mood including choosing music, clothes, and locale
- How to highlight your particular assets
- Burlesque dance basics – bumps, grinds, shimmies, and tracing
- Putting the tease in striptease
- Tassel-twirling!
We will bring gloves and boas for you to borrow (please give them back at the end of class!).
And we will give you your very own pair of tasseled pasties to bring home (included in class fee).*
You should bring:
- a sexy outfit to strip out of
- dance shoes if you’ve got ‘em (or plan to take your shoes off – no street shoes allowed on the dance floor)
- a bad-ass, sexy attitude!
